Autorencomic zwischen Bildgedicht und Graphic Novel

Internationale Comic-Ausstellung des xm:lab im Pingusson-Bau (ehem. französische Botschaft / Ministerium für Bildung und Kultur). Mit Arbeiten von Dominique Goblet, Oliver Grajewski, Simon Häussle, Sascha Hommer, Ulli Lust, Marijpol, Kai Pfeiffer, Tonto Comics: Edda Strobl, Helmut Kaplan, Michael Jordan, Marko Turunen und Birgit Weyhe. Kuratiert von Kai Pfeiffer.
Statt eines separaten Symposiums finden im Rahmen der Ausstellung am 10. Juni LEsungen und Gespräche mit den Künstlerinnen und Künstlern der Ausstellung statt. Besondere Gäste sind der französische Verleger JEan-Christophe Menu sowie der amerikanische Zeichner Eric Drooker, Inhaber der Frans Masereel Gastprofessur der HBKsaar 2013.
Für die Dauer der Ausstellung wird im Pingusson-Bau eine Comic-Lounge / ein Café BD mit fast 100 Indie-Comics zum Schmökern eingerichtet.
Die Ausstellung ist Teil des Schwerpunktes 'Kulturen der Sichtbarmachung' am xm:lab rund um das analoge/digitale/interaktive Bild. Mehr.

Der erste fab:jam des dpz - Digitalen Produktionszentrums der HBKsaar findet am 04. Mai 2013 (10 - 18:00) im Rahmen des internationalen Oui Share Fests 'Collaborative Economy' statt. Thema des fab:jams ist 'Urban Farming'. Mehr.

Organized by xm:lab and its partners (including FLOSS Manuals, P2PU, and SPC.org), Open Video London continues the international Open Video workshop series started with the Open Video Forum 2012. The aim is to create resources that will be useful in the delivery of courses on Open Video. Open Educational Resources (OER) are a rapidly expanding and innovative area to be involved with. The workshop brings educators, developers and filmmakers together to create some great resources that are equally valuable for teachers delivering workshops in their communities, for use in media labs, or for those working alone online. The xm:lab cooperated with the world's larges demoscene festival: The Revision-Party, held during Easter holidays in Saarbrücken, Germany. The Revision team and the xm:lab arranged a competition for the media fassade, opening the large media display to the demoscene. The contributions of participating groups can be watched online.
